Small Intestine: Channel and Organ

Most of the acupuncture channels are named after organs.

TCM organs are not (always) equivalent to organs as we understand them in Western medicine. For example, if your practitioner mentions an imbalance in your Liver, it doesn't mean there's an issue with your actual liver organ.

Organs in TCM have a broad range of roles, responsibilities and associations that are not always linked or associated with the physical organ.
